Nintendo 3DS to get Netflix on Thursday

Nintendo is reportedly set to bring Netflix' video streaming app to the 3DS handheld on Thursday. Users with unlimited streaming plans will be able to access a wide range of TV shows and movies directly from the gaming device via Wi-Fi, though the video content is initially limited to 2D.
Nintendo recently launched its own video service in Japan for the 3DS, enabling users to view content in 2D and 3D. Japanese users can also access a limited number of shows provided by local content providers Fuji TV and Nippon TV.

Netflix is expected to eventually offer 3D videos as part of its streaming collection, however the company has yet to announce a time-frame for the expansion. [via Nintendolife]
